Mornings are not my favorite time of day – by any means. I’m sure there are those in your family that need to be greeted with a cup of coffee (at least) before exchanging too many words. One thing that certainly helps me want to roll out of bed is the smell of freshly-baked, sweet goodness. Any of these 5 baked goods are guaranteed to help me want to walk to the kitchen for a bite and a piping hot cuppa joe. Try them out on your family and see if you can get your mornings off to a more cheery start! 🙂

Cream Cheese Banana Nut Bread

So this is one of my most popular recipes on the site – and for good reason. It’s the best banana bread ever. It’s dense and moist and full of flavor. Serve it warm, with some butter melting on top with a piping hot cup of coffee and you’re gonna have the BEST day ever. I’m sure of it.

The Ultimate Cinnamon Roll

Everyone loves cinnamon rolls. And for good reason – they’re pretty much the best thing ever. This recipe is a bit complex to make, but it seriously probably produces the best cinnamon roll I’ve ever had. Light and fluffy, but at the same time dense and chewy. And oh, so cinnamony sweet – these are amazing, and are sure to get even the ‘hardest to wake up’ person out of bed.

Apple Cinnamon Crumble Muffins

These are some of my favorite muffins ever. Not just because they’re moist and ridiculously flavorful, but because they make your ENTIRE house smell absolutely amazing when baking. Seriously, put these in the oven, open some doors and watch the bleary-eyed zombies make a beeline for the kitchen. They’re delicious.

Lemon Blueberry Pound Cake

I love all things lemon. Sweet or sour, it’s probably my favorite fruit for cooking. This combination of lemony sweet with tart blueberries is a win-win. The glaze on top just adds to the perfectly balanced sweetness of this bread. Have it with coffee or tea or with a glass of cold milk – it’s perfection.

Upside Down Pineapple Coffee Cake

I decided to turn this super popular dessert into a breakfast bread and the result is perfect. It’s a bit more dense and sweet than a traditional Pineapple Upside Down Cake – but it’s a perfect sweet start to your day. And perfect with a morning cup of coffee. 🙂
