Instructions
Prepare 1 and a half cups of coffee to cool while making the whipped cream mixture.
Add the whipping cream to a mixing bowl and beat on medium speed with an electric mixer or use a stand mixer for 2 minutes until thickened.
Slowly add the granulated sugar and vanilla to the whipped cream and continue to beat until stiff peaks form. Fold the mascarpone cheese into the stiff peaks and mix just until combined.
Cover the mascarpone cream mixture and set aside while making the coffee dip.
Add the cold coffee and liqueur to a shallow bowl.
Quickly dip the ladyfingers into the coffee mixture and lay them in a single layer on the bottom of the baking dish.
Cover the fingers with a layer of the mascarpone mixture, then place another layer of soaked fingers on top, followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.
Smooth the top with a knife or spatula and dust with cocoa powder using a sieve or fine mesh strainer.
Refrigerate the Italian tiramisu overnight or for a minimum of 4 hours.
Slice into squares and serve. Enjoy!
Recipe Notes
Quickly dip the ladyfingersYou only need to submerge the fingers in the coffee mixture for a few seconds. If you leave them to soak for longer, they will fall apart and become a mushy mess.Chill the dessertTiramisu needs to be chilled for several hours or overnight for best results before serving. This gives it time to set and for the flavors to mingle.
