Remove the butter from the fridge to come to room temperature.

Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy in a bowl using a hand or stand mixer.
Beat in the egg, then stir in the cream and vanilla.
Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl,
