What you need:

Olive Oil

Butter

Garlic

Italian Tomatoes

Sugar

Tomato Paste

Italian Herbs

Onions

Saute the garlic and onions, salt generously, over medium heat for about 7 – 8 minutes.

Add the tomatoes (with their juices) and bring to a simmer.

Add the sugar, paste, and Italian herbs. Stir well, and continue to simmer for about another hour.

Let the marinara cool a bit, then using an immersion blender, puree it right in the pan that you used to cook it until it is smooth. Be careful, it is hot!
