Portobello mushroom

Olive oil

and more...

Wash the mushrooms with a dampened cloth or paper towel to remove any dirt. Cut the stems from the mushrooms to leave the caps for stuffing. Finely dice the jalapenos and red onion. Grate the cheddar cheese and parmesan cheese.

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit (220 degrees Celsius). Drizzle or brush the mushrooms with olive oil.

And sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Mix the ground beef, chopped onion, cheddar cheese, diced jalapeno, chopped parsley, and salt and pepper in a bowl.

Make burger patties with the mixture to the size of the mushrooms using your hands.

Fill mushroom caps with the patties and top with parmesan cheese.

Transfer the unbaked stuffed mushrooms to a baking sheet or baking dish with a rack and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

Remove from the oven and serve immediately.

Cooking Tips

For the best-stuffed mushrooms, use a damp cloth or damp paper towel to clean them. If you wash mushrooms in water, they will soak up and become soggy.

Don't throw away the chopped mushroom stems. You can use them to make a delicious topping for your stuffed mushrooms or even a delicious Hungarian mushroom soup.

It’s important to use a rack so that they don’t sit directly on the bottom of the pan with their juices. Cooking them on a rack helps to give them a crispy exterior while keeping them moist in the middle with the stuffing mixture.
