💭 Cooking tips
Early browning
If you find that your strawberry banana bread is starting to burn before it's cooked, loosely cover it with aluminum foil.
Coat the strawberries in flour
You may find that the majority of the sliced strawberries will fall to the bottom of the prepared pan during baking. A good trick is to lightly coat them in flour first before mixing them into the batter. This will help them to stay suspended in the batter while it bakes.
Let it cool
Resist the urge to cut into your freshly baked goods straight from the oven. The bread needs time to cool so that it doesn't break upon slicing.
Toothpick test
Make sure your bread is cooked through by testing it with a toothpick in the center of the loaf. If it comes out clean, it's ready.

🙋 Frequently asked questions
Why does banana bread call for baking soda?
The baking soda helps the bread to rise and become airy and light in texture, so it's important not to omit this ingredient. Additionally, baking soda helps to neutralize some of the acids from the banana, which can make the banana bread taste even better.
How to know when bananas are ripe?
As a banana ripens, the yellow skin accumulates black spots and starts to cover the skin. When the banana is covered in black spots, it is considered to be ripe. Ripe bananas are much softer and sweeter than unripe ones and are perfect for baking banana bread.
🧊 Storing and ♨️ reheating
You can store leftover strawberry banana bread in many ways and enjoy it cold or reheated.
Room temperature - Cover the banana bread in aluminum foil and store it in the cupboard or bread bin for up to 3 days.
Refrigerator - Place it in an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
Freezer - Wrap it tightly with plastic wrap, place it in a freezer bag, and store it in the freezer for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight at room temperature.
Reheating - You can warm slices of strawberry banana bread in the toaster, frying pan, or microwave.

[…] I found this one particular recipe awhile back, and it has proven itself as a real winner. It’s for strawberry banana bread, but the strawberries can always be switched out for something else (I just usually go with blueberries because they naturally complement the banana flavor.) […]
